Job Description

If you’re an enthusiastic, experienced electronic technician, preferably with teaching experience, and you have a desire to help others succeed, we want to hear from you!

We’re looking for a talented electronics instructor with knowledge and experience in basic electronics (DC/AC) theory, semiconductors, telecommunications, industrial electronics, and computer applications to join the instructor team at our Lafayette Campus. This individual will report to the Campus’s Department Chair and/or Director of Education.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Educates and trains students in his or her field of expertise using accepted and approved instructional methodology.
  • Prepares lesson plans using industry-standard approaches (e.g., multimedia, adult learning methodology).
  • Teaches courses as assigned, instructs and evaluates students, develops students’ skills and encourages growth, and tracks their attendance, performance, and grades.
  • Participates in various administrative activities (e.g., attends faculty/staff meetings or in-service meetings).
  • Participates in graduation ceremonies, as assigned.
  • Participates regularly in continuing professional development activities.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience Needed:

As an Electronics Technology instructor, you must believe in the power of sharing your knowledge, motivating others, and putting students first and must be passionate about training tomorrow’s work force.
Additional requirements include:

• A minimum of an associate’s degree from an accredited Institution.

• BA or BS degree preferred, but experience and credentials will be assessed accordingly.

• At least three (3) years of practical work experience in an electronics technology environment with hands on knowledge of microprocessor architecture, PLCs, process controls or communication, basic electricity and semiconductor devices, digital electronics, and automated control systems.

• Ability to read and analyze schematics

• Understand the concepts of through hole and surface mount soldering

• Possess the ability to utilize test equipment: digital multi-meter, function generator, Oscilloscope, an dc power supplies

• Professional certifications as relevant to the field.

• Previous teaching experience highly desired.
